Volacus Wine
Volacus Wine was founded in 2010 in Tinos island. The vineyards are located in Gardari, very close to Falatados village, in an area full of full of huge granite boulder formations named “Volax”.
This area was selected as it held a long winemaking tradition and famous for the grapes and wines it produces.
The first vineyards was planted in 2010 with Malagousia variety. Six years later the cycladic red variety Mavrotragano was also planted in the same vineyard. The second vineyard was planted in 2015 exclusively with Assyrtiko variety.
The vines are in 400-440 meters altitude, the soil consisted of sand, clay and granite which combined with the unique micro climate of the region is very advantageous for the production high quality grapes.
The winery believes in sustaining a smaller production rate while using organic practices.
The wines are rounded, concentrated, with a salty notes, rich minerality and in limited number of bottles.
