The name IXSIR is derived from ‘Iksir’, the original Arabic word for ‘Elixir’, a word common to many languages that defines the purest form of all substances – a secret potion that bestows eternal youth and love. The vision behind IXSIR wines is to highlight the best terroirs of Lebanon, some long forgotten. Planted with noble grape varieties, cultivated with respect for sustainable development and integrated viticulture. IXSIR grows vines in areas carefully selected for their high quality potential, in areas as diverse as Lebanon itself, stretching from Batroun in the North to Jezzine in the South and nestling alongside the Bekka hillsides. Meticulously handcrafted by IXSIR’s winemaker, the wines reflect the purity and freshness of the Lebanese mountains through richness, elegance and complexity. Winemaking takes place in a vineyard located in the hills of Batroun, where a traditional 17th century Lebanese house presides over a modern winery with sustainability at its core.
