Lungarotti
The Lungarotti family name is identified with Torgiano, the region that produced the famous Umbria wine. The house was founded by Giorgio Lungarotti in the early 1960s and is now managed by the sisters Chiara Lungarotti and Teresa Severini. Their commitment and openness to innovation gave a strong impetus, strengthening the family example in the way of management and administration as a guarantee not only for the present but also for the future.
The creation of the D.O.C. Montefalco appellation in 1979 was made possible also thanks to Giorgio Lungarotti’s contribution. Mindful of this, when many other producers began to invest in far-away wine areas, he decided to remain within their own land, the Umbria region, of which they have a deep knowledge in terms of climate, soil, environment, and people. Indeed, they are firmly convinced that a wine must be an expression of the land in which it originates and this territory is Umbria!
