Flying Dog
Flying Dog Brewery is located in Frederick, Maryland. The brewery was founded in 1990. It originally started as a brewpub in Aspen, Colorado. It was the first brewery to open in over 100 years in Aspen and one of the first brewpubs in the Rocky Mountain region. In 1991, Flying Dog “Doggie Style” was bottled and won the award as the “Best American Pale Ale” at the Great American Beer Festival. Flying Dog beer’s reputation grew quickly, and demand soon outstripped the brewpub’s capacity. So in 1994 a new brewery opened in Denver, Colorado. In May 2006, Flying Dog purchased the Frederick Brewery located in Frederick, Maryland, and in January 2008 all production was moved there.
