The Egon Müller estate has been in the hands of the Müller family since 1797. In the steep, slate vineyards of the Mosel, winemaker Mr. Egon Müller makes breathtaking Riesling. The family makes the most of their single-vineyard cultivation and, as a result, ranks among the region’s top winemakers. It is the belief of Scharzhof that the production of the best grapes is solely due to the quality of the vineyards that produce the best grapes and make every effort for the best result. The Müller holdings include a plot of ungrafted vines planted in the 19th century. These wines perform at the highest level of quality and are without a doubt among the great wines of the world. Scharzhofberg, or Scharzhof Mountain, is one of the best Riesling sites in Germany and is considered a Grand Cru.
