Chimay

The monastery’s history begins in 1850, when the abbot Jourdain with a team of monks established the Trappist abbey of Abbaye de Scourmont Chimay. They produce three types of beer which are distinctive by label color. Chimay Red: The first beer which was distributed in 1862 in a 75cl bottle with cork. Chimay Blue: It was distributed in 1948 as Christmas beer at first . However, its’ tremendous success led it to become the best seller beer. Chimay Triple: It is the newest beer of the monastery which was produced by reverend Theodore.
