Château la Tour de l’Evêque: A vineyard in the heart of Provence!

The Sumeire family who have owned the Font-Freye estate since 1933, acquired this large estate near Pierrefeu, within the Var region in 1958. Formerly the summer residence of the archbishops of Toulon, the vineyard is surrounded by the Maures’ hills.

Regine Sumeire is today the owner and vintner not only of Château la Tour de l’Evêque but also of Château Barbeyrolles. It emerged as a point of reference in wine production in the region – especially in rosé wines where it was a protagonist and a pioneer. In both estates, the terroirs of the vineyards are captured and enhanced by the winemaking process. The terroir of La Tour produces wines with a more intense body, mineral and strong.

From the vines to the cellar their philosophy is the result of a long family tradition based on quality and organic farming. The vinification is focused on the respect of the terroir.
